UK's first fast-charging Electric Buses

In June 2012, Travel deCourcey launched the UK's first fast-charging electric buses in Coventry.

Running between the War Memorial Park and the city centre, three electric buses provide the Park and Ride service for Coventry every 15 minutes.  The advances in battery technology means the ultra modern vehicles can be fully recharged in around an hour, whereas previous, similar vehicles would've taken 5-6 hours.

Along with the fleet of Euro IV, low emission diesel vehicles, the three electric buses use regenerative braking to recharge the batteries, a similar technology is used in Formula 1 cars.

Low emission, EURO IV, diesel vehicles make up the rest of the Travel deCourcey fleet, resulting in the company being named one of the region's Green Leaders by Sustainabilty West Midlands.
