We have a number of exciting places for all ages to visit with us this summer!!

Coombe Abbey

For a family day out or a quiet picnic with scenic views, Coombe Abbey Country Park is the perfect place to visit this summer! It offers 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, lakeside walks, and bird watching. 

During summer, Coombe Abbey have many different events on for young children, such as their Crafty Cat Paint Your Own Pottery Studio, donkey rides, bouncy castles and spider mountain. Virgin Balloon Flights are also available through bookings on their website. From 30th July - 27th August (every fortnight) Coombe Abbey are hosting a birds of prey display.

Planet Ice Coventry

Planet Ice have a number of deals this summer, whether you want to skate all day or learn to skate in just 5 days!

Learn to skate is designed for people with very low ability ice skating, or none whatsoever. Included in the price (£50 if you book online) includes 5 days of lessons which are 30 minutes each, skate hire, all day ice skating in the arena and a meal deal!

Ice skating sessions are available from 17th July to 31st August.

Leicester is brimming with things to see and do. King Richard III Museum

The visitor centre stands on the site of the medieval friary of the Grey Friars where the king's remains were buried over 500 years ago. The exhibition gives visitors a chance to learn more about the King's life and death - and to understand the huge events that led to his hasty burial and eventual rediscovery.

It reveals one of the greatest archealogical detective stories ever told and features the first-ever genome sequencing of ancient DNA. Visitors are able to see the exact place where Richard's remains were buried over 500 years ago and this poignant place has been transformed into a glass-floored contemplative space for visitors.

The new visitor centre is the centrepiece of a series of regeneration projects including Cathedral Gardens - a new area of open green spaces, paths, and artwork between Leicester Cathedral and the Visitor Centre.

Coventry Transport Museum

If you're looking for a fantastic free day out for all the family, you can't beat Coventry Transport Museum. In the heart of Coventry's city centre, this huge museum is home to the world's largest collection of British road transport, and a visit whisks you away into a world of stories of real people, real passions and real hope.

The museum has recently relaunched following an incredible £9.5m transformation of the whole museum. Be among the first to see the new displays and get hands on with Coventry's amazing transport history. Throughout the summer Coventry Transport Museum is hosting a range of activities for all the family to enjoy.

Visitors to the museum this summer will be the first to take in the newly refurbished museum, which tells the story of Coventry's proud motoring heritage in a world-class, innovative new way and includes the exhilarating new Thrust 4D simulator ride.

Coventry Cathedral 

Coventry Cathedral is known all over the world as a beautiful and unique venue. Designed by architect Sir Basil Spence following the bombing of the city in 1940, it was opened in 1962 and is celebrated as the UK's favourite 20th century building. 

The Coventry Cathedral Tower Climb offers the best view in Coventry! It is open 7 days a week except during bell ringing sessions. 

Located in the ruins, the Blitz Experience Museum contains five 1940's room reconstructions. It is open April-September, 10am to 3:30pm, Mondays to Saturdays, closed on Sundays.  It is open at other times on request for pre-booked guided tours.

St Mary's Guildhall

St Mary's Guildhall is open from 22nd March to 4th October 2015. Here you can discover more than 600 years worth of stories from the finest medieval guildhall in the country. Located in the city's historic Cathedral quarter, with magnificent medieval interiors, and collections of armour and fine artworks, the guildhall offers a window into Coventry's glorious past. A prison to Mary, Queen of Scots, a theatre for Shakespeare and an inspiration to George Eliot, St Mary's guildhall is a fascinating free experience for all ages, at the historic heart of the city.

Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery and Riversley Park

The Museum and Art Gallery is set in the beautiful surroundings of Riversley Park. The museum plays host to a lively temporary exhibitions programme. It also has permanent displays of art and social history which includes items related to Larry Grayson. There is also a gallery dedicated to local writer George Eliot.

The museum provides a range of activities, events and lunchtime talks suitable for all ages. Afterwards, why not have a picnic in Riversley Park - it has a large outdoor play area available for children.
