Live Site Big Screen - 18th September - 31st October

Taking place in the Milennium Place, outside Coventry Transport Museum from September 18th to October 31st, you can watch all the home nations' games in the 2015 World Cup live on the big screen!

Cheer on England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales or whoever your preferred team, to lift the Webb Ellis Trophy.

Our X6, 585, 85 and 74 services drop off into Pool Meadow station which is a very short walk to Coventry Transport Museum!

Festival of the imagination 16th-17th October

The festival of imagination is the celebration of Warwick University's 50th anniversary. They are showcasing the work they do at the university through a diverse programme of events all focused around the theme 'imagining the future'.

There are many exciting events planned for the festival, the discovery zone offers the chance to meet some of their amazing researchers and explore the world in their free interactive 'discovery zone'. There are many talks and debates where the university will be hosting a series of talks, debates and interviews with the theme 'imagining the future'. The future of science will be the outreach offering from their superb team of keen scientists who love to share their fascination with how the world works, here you will be able to visit lectures that will excite the senses and leave you wanting to know more. There will be a series of taster classes in a variety of subjects to whet your appetite, this will be an opportunity to try speaking some Chinese or give philosophy a go with the guidance of their expert teachers.

Rugby World Cup 2015 - Leicester City Stadium - 3rd, 6th & 11th October

The Rugby World Cup is almost among us and 3 games are being held at Leicester City Stadium! With a capacity of 32,312 people the Leicester City Stadium has replaced a decaying ground with a state of the art all seater facility. The following games are being held at the stadium:

October 3rd - Argentina V Tonga at 14:30

October 6th - Canada V Romania at 16:45

October 11th - Argentina v Namibia at 12:00

Heritage Open Days 11th-13th September

Heritage Open Days is England's biggest heritage festival. It celebrates our fantastic history, architecture and culture, offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences - which are all free!

There are many events going on in Coventry for Heritage Open Days - we've picked out a few favourites that we think everybody should visit! 

Herbert Art Gallery & Museum 

The Herbert Art Gallery and museum tells 2000 years of Coventry's history and is home to an impressive visual art collection. In 2010 it was awarded Family Friendly Museum of the Year.

Medieval Undercroft Tours

The museum and art gallery will be hosting guided tours to a part that is not usually open to the public! 

This is a unique chance to see one of Coventry's oldest cellars!

Guided Tours by Curators at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

Join the Curators for a behind the scenes look at the museum collections through guided tours in the Social History, Natural History and Oil Paintings store.

Open Store Tour at Coventry Transport Museum - 12th September

On 12th September, from 10am to 4pm Coventry Transport Museum are opening up their off-site vehicle store!

They are offering the chance to travel on the museum's 1963 Daimler double decker bus to get to and from the venue, with the bus making regular trips to and from the store throughout the day at 10am, 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3pm. Tours need to be pre-booked and are free, although places are limited to 15 per session so booking is essential!

There will be expert staff and volunteers on hand that will be available to talk about the collection

Classic Car Breakfast Club at Coventry Transport Museum 12th September

From 9am-11am Coventry Transport Museum will also be hosting a 'Classic Car Breakfast Club',

Here, classic car owners and enthusiasts will be able to park up outside the museum and show off their cars as well as meeting other vehicle owners for a chat over a cuppa and a pastry!

All vehicle owners attending will receive a free pastry when purchasing a regular sized tea

Caludon Castle 

Caludon Castle is one of only 20 ancient scheduled monuments within Coventry and it's the only one to be found in a public park. It started life as a Manor House but was later given Royal License to crenelate or fortify and thereafter it was known as Caludon Castle. The remaining wall is over 800 years old. 

Bands in the park event - 2pm - 3:30pm with 5 bar brass performing. Our 85, 585, X6, 74 and 360 services all drop off at Caludon Castle. 

Allesley Park Walled Garden 

Allesley Park Walled Garden was opened in 1997 to re-create a kitchen garden as it might have looked 200 years ago. The walled garden is an exquisite example of 18th Century Georgian planting at it's best. With one quarter of the one-and-a-half acre site replanted with vegetable beds, fruiting trees and flower borders, it's a popular retreat for visitors who happen to chance across it on their morning walks.

Coombe Country Park 12th September

Coombe Abbey Country Park offers 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, lakeside walks and bird witching all set against the stunning Coombe Abbey. This site dates back to 1150 when the Abbey was founded by Cisterian monks. The Craven family lived at Coombe in the 18th Century creating the lake and sight lines of the deer park. 

The events will concentrate on the 18th Century Capability Brown Parkland and heritage of the woodlands on site.In 2016, the park will be participating in the National Capability Brown Festival and this will be an introduction to visitors to the man responsible for transforming large parts of the park over 200 years ago!

The parkland will be open as usual but special access will be given to the recently restored Capability Brown boathouse, which will be open from 12 noon to 2pm. There will also be a 'Free Cassie the Clue Hunter' garden trail, where you can pick up a free clue sheet at the Visitors Centre! Also on during this event will be the Festival of Crafts Woodturners event, so be sure to pop and see them and their work!

Festival of Crafts - Coombe Abbey Woodturners 12th & 13th September 

On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September, Coombe Abbey Woodturners are hosting a Festival of Crafts!

There will be displays of country crafts and fun for all the family in the picturesque setting of Coombe Country Park

Rugby Food and Drinks Festival - 25th September

Rugby Food and Drinks Festival is being held on Friday 25th September!

The festival is four days long which celebrates the amazing variety of high quality food, drink and 'real ales' that Rugby and the surrounding area has to offer! At the event there will be a farmers market, food fayres, pop up kitchen, real ale trail, a drinks festival and kids kitchen!

Morris Minor Owners Club / Coventry Transport Museum - 26th September

Coventry Transport Museum are to be joined by the Morris Minor Owners Club who will be displaying their lovable 'Moggies' out on Millenium Place.

So take your camera, have a chat with the owners and enjoy the display of these wonderful Great British classics!

This event is free and is running from 9:30am-5:00pm
